For Emma's first birthday, the theme is "You Are My Sunshine". I had seen all kinds of creative things to do for the party. I began getting things ready a month ago, but never actually did anything with it...until today. Today Michael and I decided that we need to get a photo of Emma to get the invitations ordered and sent out. Here are a few of the "good" ones from the photo shoot:
The scene.
About to lose one...
And Emma's outta here!
Sitting away from our photo shoot.
Happy girl :)
Just walking away from us.
I mean it; I've had way too much!
Pointing at something Daddy has.
Looking at the flowers.
Emma touching the pink lantern.
Emma kicked over the flowers.
Then got upset and started to cry.
Looking at the lanterns.
Starting to get a little crabby and tired from the photo shoot.
"What are those lanterns doing?"
"I just can't take this anymore!"
Trying to keep her distracted.
About to lose her again; the balloon can only entertain her for so long.
Emma trying to grab a lantern.
Emma's got the lantern in her hand...she's got the whole wide lantern in her hand...
Up walking around.
"What is this thing and what does it say?"
Absolutely beautiful!
The picture we ended up using.
The last photo we took.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
This year, Michael and I decided we would head out to the Cottleville St. Patrick's Day parade. The weather was going to be nice and warm, or so we thought. After Mike & Rachel and Mindy & Chris got to our house, we were on our way to the parade route. Little did we know just how many other people would be leaving and wanting to get there at that time too. We sat in traffic for a little over a half hour; and let me tell you, Emma was not having it! She was getting so crabby because she was hungry and then uncomfortable because she wasn't able to see mom and dad, just Mike and Rachel. While Emma may not remember this parade; we sure did have a good time! Hopefully as the years go by, Emma will get to enjoy them more.
OMG! A little leprachaun must have stopped by at our house and dropped off a present for our little lucky charm.
Emma is the luckiest girl EVER!
Emma helping mama make breakfast.
Green eggs?
Not thrilled to be wearing the headband so early in the morning.
Taking a bite of the green eggs.
But Sesame Street is still on tv.
What is this green stuff?!?
Emma's St. Patty's Day breakfast; green eggs, pancakes, and banana.
Not thrilled to be eating this breakfast.
Eating up the yummy breakfast.
It's so hot out here!
I'm ready for this parade.
Our view at the start of the parade.
Which way is this thing supposed to come?
Climbing around the stroller and Grandma while waiting for the parade to start.
I can't see you mommy; it's too bright out here!
Sitting under the cow umbrella Rachel gave Emma.
Getting some shade from Grandpa.
Here they come!
Cottleville Fire Department
Give a round of applause for those who serve our country.
Sharks!
Pirate Ship Float
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Watching the floats go by with Grandma.
Grandpa, I don't think this umbrella is working.
Mom, its so hot out here! Can we go now?
Gateway to Cottleville.
Watching the parade with Grandpa.
The storms abrewing in the background.
Getting a drink from Grandpa.
What are you looking at?
Grandma and Emma
Take a look at that bus...
Yes, it's the short bus!
Emma with the beads she caught...or was given.
Cute little shamrock butt!
Oh boys!
Michael and Mike joined in the parade.
Mike handing out candy to some kids; what ever happened to not take candy from a stranger?
And more people!
A pink fire truck!
Our church, St. Joseph's.
Creative people.
Love this picture of me and Rachel!
Obnoxious girl who wanted to get the crowd going while it was raining.
re
Emma LOVES her care bear.
Reading books with Rachel.
Making animal faces, maybe it's the cat face?
Caught in the action!
Emma playing with her kitchen.
And the zoo, which she loves!
