Grants Farm

Spur of the moment, we decided to go to Grants Farm this weekend.  We had asked Aunt Joan and Katie, along with Uncle Ron and Roger if they wanted to join our family there.  While there we saw the bird show, the elephant show, stopped at the brewery, saw many animals, fed the goats, and rode the carousel.  Here are some of the highlights from this trip:

A burst of air as we are heading out on the tram.

Nana, Uncle Scott, and Emma

Papa and Emma looking out at the animals.

Papa pointing out one of Emma's favorite animals...a duck!

Trying to take off her shoes.

Hey you!  Caught you taking another picture of me!

Being silly with Nana and Papa.

Emma and Daddy waiting for the bird show to begin.

Here comes a bird.

Wow! That was a close one!

Here birdie birdie birdie!  Trying to lure in the birds.

The view from Emma's seat.

A little better when you stand up.

Ha Ha Ha!  That's so funny!

These birdies come so close to you!

Still snacking on the same cracker.

Got tired of standing; sitting next to Papa.

Aunt Joan and Katie watching the bird show.

Daddy and Emma going to feed the goats.

Watching as some of the family feed the goats.

Hold on tight to Emma!

Papa, get these goats out of my face!

Festival of the Little Hills

Every summer down on main street in St. Charles, there is the Festival of the Little Hills.  This year we thought we would be brave and adventure the crowds with the Emma on wheels!  I swear sometimes it seems like an extra set of eyes and hands would be nice.  This is only controlling one child, so I can only imagine what it will be like trying to wrangle two kids!  Oh boy, oh boy, this will be fun!

Emma walking around main street.

Just doing a little window shopping.

Meeting people all the time (much like her Grandpa).

Walking down towards the river with Daddy.

Resting her head on daddy's thick skull.

Trying to give 'fives' to anyone and everyone.

High five to you!

Looks like someone is getting a little sleepy.

Watching the choo choo go around the track.

Here it comes!

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo!

Emma was trying to find a way into this ride; too bad you have a few more years before you will be able to go on it.

Family Day at the Zoo

Michael and I decided that we would go to the Zoo with just our family this time.  There are many times we have an additional family member present, but we also like to see how Emma will react to certain things.  While at the Zoo this time, we didn't necessarily do anything new or different, but merely enjoyed the presence of one another.  It's nice to have the opportunity to do things with our families, but at the same time we would like to have some memories of just our family partaking in things.

Drink ready for the train ride.

All happy to go on the choo choo!

Why aren't we on the train yet?

Having a fruit snack and catching up on the news.

All aboard!

My family

Looking ahead.

I love you stinky face.

Back at ya mom!

Silly girl cheesing it up for the camera!

Hold on tight; is Daddy driving?

Emma was becoming a little squirmy inside the monkey house.

Which monkey is looking at who?

So excited to see monkeys!

Looking at the elephants.

Pointing to them too.

A mommy and her baby.

Best view in town.

Again the mommy and baby.

Emma making sure I get to see this too.
