A Quick Dip

We had a little bit of a warm up and we thought it would be nice jump into the little kiddie pool.  I think Michael might have enjoyed the pool more than myself or Emma.  Hopefully, we will have many more times of being able to enjoy the kiddie pool this summer!

Michael enjoying "homemade" shaded pool.

Emma wanting to investigate what Daddy was doing in her pool.

Getting closer...

Making sure Mom was keeping an eye on her.

Taking a break to smell the flowers.

What a beautiful little girl!

Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning; more like butt naked cleaning!  I was attempting to change Emma's diaper when she took off running throughout the house.  She made a pit stop at the open closet door and pulled out the broom.  I must say that she is very observant with what we do so its really no surprise that she was attempting to sweep.  Now we just need to find her a broom more her size and she can begin some chores! (just kidding).  This is what I saw when I came around the corner, our little lady (completely naked) running with the broom.  What a silly girl!

Sweeping the rug.

Heading into the kitchen.

Watch out Lexi; I don't really know how to work this thing!

And time to sweep the kitchen floor.

Chase's Spring Performance

We headed to Marquette High School, where Chase and the rest of the kiddos sang songs to an audience full of family members and friends.  While we were there just to see Chase's performance, we didn't realize that it would be only two songs (just about five minutes) and we would be heading home.  It is always good though to visit with family so Emma was able to play with her cousins in the lobby.

Licking her fingers after a quick snack.

Waiting to see Chase's performance.

Emma going down to visit with Aunt Jessica, Uncle Chris, and Isabella.

Chase was a little unsure when he got on stage.

And then the tears started coming.

It was all over then, poor Chase.

Time to head off the stage, as quick as possible.

Time to Hit the Pool

Emma received a whale kiddie pool from Nana and Papa for her birthday.  She also got another pool that has a slide and a little soaking area from Grandma and Grandpa.  So today Michael and I decided to adventure out into the great outdoors (aka our backyard) and introduce Emma to the water!  Yay! Summer time is here!

Cali relaxing in the shade.

Emma pointing to Daddy while handing me the sunscreen to put on her.

Emma's kiddie pool.

Looking for weeds (takes after her Mommy and Papa).

Hey Dad, what are you doing watering the plants.  You are supposed to be filling that thing up!

Daddy letting Emma have a feel of the water dripping out of the hose.

Then Daddy sprayed Emma in the face!

And her body!

Emma had enough of it and was out of there.

Getting a feel of the water as it was filling up the pool.

Showing Mommy her "big" kiddie pool.

Testing out the little whale pool.

Then onto bigger and better things!

Attempting to walk, until she realized it was a little slippery then she didn't want to walk around much.

Oh no!  Daddy left the hose unattended.

Mommy going in to confront Emma about holding onto the hose.

And Emma got excited and soaked herself!

What a silly little girl!

Lexi decided to come into the pool to cool down too!

Nothing like putting weeds behind your ear.

Emma loving on Mommy.

Brush Brush Brush Your Teeth

Lots of articles I've read say to get your child into the dentist by or around their first birthday.  Well Emma doesn't really have many teeth.  As a matter of fact, she just got her first tooth right at her first birthday.  We thought we could wait to see a dentist until she has more teeth and in the mean time begin brushing them.  I hope she likes this concept and that we can create a good routine with her for brushing her teeth.  When Michael was growing up his mom used to sing to him a song "brush your teeth ch ch chch, ch ch chch, brush your teeth ch ch chch, ch ch ch".  This is something we would like to pass down to Emma too!

Taking a look at the toothbrush.

Helping Mommy clean Emma's teeth.

Checking to see if Daddy saw that Emma can brush her teeth now.

Or maybe this is the newest teething toy.

Is that Pooh on there?  (Winnie the Pooh of course!)

Emma's 1 Year Check-up

I can't believe that our little Emma is already one year old!  I don't know where the time has gone, and I hear it will only go faster!  There have been many great achievements throughout this year and we can only imagine what is to come in the future!

That's our 20 pound 1 ouncer!

Playing in the room waiting to be seen by the doctor.

Moving the beads all around.

She is so proud of what she did!

Always finding something to do.
