House Hunting Trip

When we first decided on moving, I thought what fun it would be to spend 10 days just looking at a bunch of houses.  It's a fresh new start where you can pick and choose the things you like, except there are some things you just can't change.

We had a list of houses that fit our expectations and we decided not to meet the realitor right when we got in town, but rather drive by some of these places first.  Just by driving there, we were able to eliminate a few from our listing.  It was nice how the realitor broke down the houses within certain towns so we could focus on one area at a time.

Right away, Michael and I had a bad feeling we would be running out of time if we stuck it out with this realitor.  We were only able to meet her at night (which was unfortunate because some of the houses didn't have a lot of lights so we couldn't judge the house very well and ruled them out based on that).  We were beginning to think she may have another job because she was just hard to reach at times when we needed her.  Some of Michael's co-workers told him that remember these people work for you and should do as you ask, within reason of course.  We were starting to get concerned with how this house hunting trip would end, whether we would have a place or not...

But then one evening, I began looking up places on my own and found a few that met our expectations.  I contacted a couple more realitors explaining our situation and that we needed to get in and see places asap!  One realitor in particular called back the next morning and said she could get us to see the house that afternoon.  She later called back and said I have a house that I think you will like much better, lets start there!  And we did and that's the house we decided to go with!  This lady knew us from just that little bit of information we gave her and was so much more personal and professional.  We were so glad this new realitor took us under her wings cause we love the first place she showed us!

Thank God our house hunting trip was a success!

Ready to find our next home.

De-icing the plane.

Hmmm, will we even get there today?

Freezing while we wait for the shuttle to take us back to the hotel.

Out in Alexandria.

And I think Michael has gone crazy!

It snowed here too!  Crap!

Michael thought this was a hilarious name for a car dealership.

Getting word on the place.

The first time we drove by the house, which later became the one we picked!

The backyard, way back there.

Alexandria lit up with Christmas lights.

Michael still frozen.

Trying to keep our mind's off the freezing temps.

We went into a CVS, where Michael found this lovely hat.  Thank you Jesus he wasn't serious about buying it!

Oh Lord, and another one I'm glad he didn't buy!

More pretty lights.
