Again with Michael being home and the weather being ridiculously nice, we decided to get out the sprinkler Emma was given by Chris, Jess, and the kids for her birthday. Who would have thought that we would be playing in the water at the beginning of October!?!
After getting the sprinkler out and blowing it up, which took some time, we headed outside. We don't really have much level ground around our house. The side of the house has a little bit of a hill, so that's where we went. I mean we could have gone to the backyard, but the kids would have to dodge poop piles and we would have to move a hose around to the back. It just seemed like too much work to do that, so we adventured out to the side of the house.
Because of the hill and then add water to the mix, the kids were sliding all over the place. Emma played in the sprinkler for a little bit, but didn't want to get too wet. Mason on the other hand, just went full force into the water! After he fell down, we moved the sprinkler to a more level spot a little further away (acutally the furthest the hose would reach). It seemed to work much better there, but the kids didn't last long. While it was warm outside, Mason began to have chatty teeth and Emma lost interest in the sprinkler. Michael was nervously looking at the time as the Cardinals game was on early today. With that said, we decided to head inside and quickly rinse the kids off in the tub and get lunch before cheering on the Red Birds.
Wrapped up in her new Doc McStuffins towel.
Michael blowing up the sprinkler.
Mason chowing down before we head outside.
This looks like a good place for the sprinkler.
Exploring the grass and bushes.
Wow! Look at the water everywhere!
It even caught Mason's attention.
Touching the water before getting wet.
Running through the sprinkler.
She made it!
I think the smile says it all! Pure happiness!
Playing in the water.
Mason's turn to touch the water.
Playing in the sprinkler.
Here she goes again.
Mason's turn to explore the sprinkler:
He was having fun until this point.
Emma continued to play, even though Mason was screaming after his fall.
Poor guy, he looks miserable.
Mason was trying to get away, but couldn't.
He really wasn't a happy guy now.
Rinsing her toes off.
Everyone is looking in all different directions.
Let's try the sprinkler here.
Mason was much more content just watching.
Still rinsing her toes off.
Mason wasn't too happy now.
And neither was Emma after she got soaked!
Rinsing her toes off while Daddy got his head wet.
Then she wanted to be like Daddy and get her head wet too.
