Banana Cookie Sticks

Since we like bananas so much and Emma has shown some interest in the baby foods, we thought we would introduce her to these banana cookie sticks.  They are larger to hold, which we are hoping helps, but they are a little harder than most of the foods she has tried.  We will give it a shot and see how she likes it...

So cute with her scarf.

Chugga, chugga, chugga, chugga, choo choo!  Isn't that what this thing is?

Thoroughly enjoying it!

Look at all the slobber!

Enjoying all the flavors by sucking on it.

Maybe that one wasn't a good bite?!?

Back at it again.

Trying to pick up the last piece.

And there it goes!

I think Emma enjoys these banana cookies!

Tea and Biscuits

This was our version of a tea party; apple juice and biscuits for breakfast.  It was something new to try and well, lets just say, Emma didn't really care for it.  It could be that we are throwing so many new things at her that she doesn't know which are good or bad.  At least she is trying them and we can always reintroduce them to her at a later date.  Who knows, she may end up liking it then.  I also want to introduce her to as much as possible because I know there were some things I wouldn't try just based off of family perceptions of some foods.

Mom, I think there is something on my face.

Trying to pick up every last piece of biscuit.

Hmmm, this must have been a burnt piece of biscuit or something.

Well instead of tea, Emma has apple juice, which is spilling all over her tray.

Looking for her pups!

Then concentrating on picking up a bite to eat.

And it's good!

Well maybe; looks like Emma is thinking about whether or not she likes it.

The Dogs Bowl

Emma made her way over to something she hasn't investigated before (until now)...the dog's food and water bowl.  At first, I was a little hesitate about her getting too close to the dog's food because some animals can become protective of their food, but since it was just Cali around, I didn't think there would be any issues.  Cali watched from a distance and wondered what Emma was going to do.  Emma really enjoyed splashing around in the dog's water bowl, even as gross at that sounds.  Don't worry, she cleaned up well after her new adventure to the dogs bowl.

Dipping a finger into the dogs bowl; yep, it's wet and cold.

And then deciding to stick both hands in.

Oh what's this?  A nice yellow bowl for the puppies to eat from.  They won''t mind if I look at it, will they?

Still admiring the water.

Then she found it...the dog food!

And of course, she wanted to see what it tasted like.

Hmmm, this doesn't taste good at all.

Getting a feel for the water with one hand and the dog food with the other hand.

Picking out a piece of the dog food.

Cali looking over at Michael wondering why he isn't stopping this kid from playing with her food and water.

Mac n Cheese

Emma is getting to the age where she can begin to eat more solid foods.  So naturally after starting with dessert, a hard cookie, we decided maybe we should try something a little softer and more filling than cookies.  We love mac n cheese so we thought that would be a good place to begin with.  There will be so many new things this little lady will be trying, even some things I know I don't like, but we still need to expose her to them.  I guess I'll plug my nose when the time comes to eat fish!  Maybe Michael can handle eating that and show Emma that it really is good, just don't count on having me around when they eat that.  Yuck!

Emma's first bite of the mac n cheese.

I don't think she likes it, but we shall see...

Ok, I guess she really doesn't like it.

An attempt for another bite.

And she gets distracted by the tv.

There's a little smile from the lady, maybe she does like mac n cheese.

Hey Cal Cal, would you want some of this stuff they are trying to feed me?

Well, Emma was getting tired from eating, I guess.

Cookie Monster, No It's Cookie Emma?

Onto trying new foods and what better than a dessert, cookies!  Both Michael and I share a love for desserts, which is sometimes bad.  But I mean who really doesn't like something sweet every now and then.  We hope Emma will have a little sweet tooth and will enjoy eating desserts too!  This is how her first experience with a cookie went...

Hmmm, what are you?

Let me just touch you to feel what you are...

Better yet, let me take a bite of this thing.

I'm not sure what to think of it...

Let's have another look at it.

Better yet, again I think it's worth taking a bite.

Just making a little mess.

Yum! Yum! Yum!

It's better when it's all soggy.

You want a bite, mom?

Even with a messy face, still a cutie pie!

Checking out the feeling of the sides of the cookie.

Showing every last bit into her mouth.

Even trying to get her fingers inside her mouth too!

Onto another cookie!

Wow! These things taste soo good!

Trying to eat every last crumb.

Umm mom, I think the cookies are gone?!?
