Apple Picking

And so our tradition of apple picking has begun!  Michael's dad went along with us while we picked some apples.  The rest of the family stayed behind and waited to see just how many apples we picked.

I wasn't sure how long Emma would last being out in the middle of the fields.  When it appearred that she was becoming tired of apple picking, we knew it was time to call it quits.  We also knew that we would have to wait for another tractor and wagon to pick us up so we better time it just right.  Surprisingly, Emma did really well apple picking.  We stayed out in the fields until we were ready to head back, not being rushed along by any means.  I'm so glad Emma enjoyed apple picking and I can't wait to go again next year!

Cheese!  But seriously mom, no more pictures!

And we are off!

Another tractor and wagon ready to get another group for apple picking.

Chopped wood used for the campsites.

Emma was sharpening her teeth by chewing on the side of the wagon.

Just kidding!  She was chewing on her finger.

The view from the side of the wagon, nothing but fields and more fields.

Emma looking out into the fields.

Pointing to just about everything!

Oh no, a fork in the road; which way will we go?!?

A view of the arch from where we were.

Now Emma was climbing over Daddy's leg.

What a place to rest!?!

Here look at these apples!

Daddy trying to show Emma where an apple is, but Emma is preoccupied with what Grandpa is doing.

And there goes Grandpa in search of the best apple.

And he came out with this one!

Lets have a bite and see how tasty it is!

Daddy, a little help getting this started.

Okay, that's better.

Bring it in a little closer Daddy.

Don't get lost Grandpa!

One of the many apple trees.

Oh, look at that; it's a green apple!

Look at all of these apples.

And this one right here!

What's wrong with picking up the apples from the ground?  All the hard work is already done for you.

Grandpa and Emma apple picking.

Emma found an apple at just her height.

Emma trying to take a big bite.

Sucking the juices out of the red apples.  Yummy!

Her belly was full and ready to head back.

But she saw more apples on the ground and she just had to pick up a few more apples.

Grandpa helped Emma get this apple off of the tree.

She was so proud of her apple!

And placing the apple not so gently into the bag to take home.

But Emma preferred to be on the ground and pick the apples all by herself.

What a way to end the day!
