Eckert's Farm

Michael and I had talked about starting a tradition by going apple picking with Emma.  We didn't have any place in mind, but my Grandma had mentioned there were coupons in the entertainment book to the Eckert's in Millstadt.  And that's where we ended up going!

We mentioned going apple picking to Michael's parents and brother's family as something we could do for their mom's birthday.  We were going to have lunch before going to the farm, but we just ran out of time and had to grab fast food on the way to their house.  So it wasn't the birthday lunch we had planned on, but we were still on track for going apple picking!

Neither myself nor Michael had been to this farm so we didn't know what to expect.  There were alot of kid friendly things to do, but I think Emma was still too young for most of them.  Emma was able to enjoy the pig races, petting some farm animals, riding on a pony, and of course apple picking!  We will definitely have to keep this in mind as she gets older and would able to experience more of the activities they have to offer.  Not a bad start to our first apple picking tradition!

Chase calling the goats over to them.

Run Emma!  The goat spotted your fruit and veggies!

Emma shaking the fence in hopes of letting the goats escape.

All the goats clustered by the kiddos.

Chase keeping an eye on the goats.

Emma is pointing to the goat they want to come over to them.

And he came over to Isabella's hand.

Then to both Isabella and Chase's hands.

Goat, where did you go?

Oh, another goat come instead!

Emma found a goat who liked to lick the fruit off of her hand.

Emma sticking her face through the fence; such a fearless little girl!

Walking up the big hill to go down a slide.

Emma running up the hill; crazy kid!

Chase made it!

And so did Isabella!

Going back for another turn.

Hope we don't get lost in the corn maze!

And leave it to Emma to find a dog!

Oh no, we are about to loose Emma to the corn.

Staring at the stalks, wondering what in the world they are.

Emma was getting a little tired.

Mother and son walking through the maze.

Emma trying to reach out to the tops of the corn stalks.

On our way to the petting zoo; this is right up Emma's alley!

First stop, a pony ride!

One handed, no way!?!

Looking out the front window.

Looking the tractor over.

Just about the same size as the wheel.

Chase and Emma, oh Lord we are going to be in a world of hurt when they can start driving!

Watch out for these two!
