For months Michael and I had been thinking about our first family vacation. Then the last couple weeks I had been preparing all of the essentials we would need. You should have seen the amount of stuff we brought! You would have thought we were going to be staying there for a month! I wasn't sure what to bring because what if Emma did like the beach or pool then we are limited to what we can do inside and if it were to rain as well. So with that thought, we packed a bunch of toys!
Michael and I had the SUV packed and ready to go on Friday night. We were trying to figure out when a good time to leave would be, but with it raining we just didn't know what would be better than the next. So we headed out, only we needed to make a pit stop at the gas station to meet Michael's parents. We had a GPS, but the cord wasn't with it so the GPS wouldn't have done us much good. Off to a later start than we anticipated, but that's okay because we have awhile for check in on Saturday.
Shortly after leaving St. Louis, Emma fell asleep and she was out for a long time. I was even able to take a little nap, until the weather conditions got bad. Michael was having a hard time seeing the roads due to the downpour of rain so I thought it might be best if I was awake for this. And in no time, the rain had passed and I was back to napping. A few stops for gas and to use the bathrooms and we were making great time, even with the weather incident. When the sun began to rise, we all were getting hungry. The only problem was that there was absolutely no restaurant nearby for many, many miles! And the GPS kept saying that there was something right around the corner, but every time we got close, the GPS changed its mind. Crazy thing! Finally, there was a McDonalds where we enjoyed our breakfast, literally right down the road from our hotel.
We decided to check out some of the shops nearby, Target of course. There is also the Pier within walking distance that we will probably adventure to sometime this week. There are many restaurants within this strip, but I imagine we won't be going to many with the crazy little one we have. Also, our intentions are to make alot of foods at the hotel, but we will see how that goes. We may be doing take out pretty often. After all, it is vacation!

Emma thought that her little brother might like the truck, since she already has the coup car.
Emma was still worn out.
We finally made it!
