Arrived Early At The Aquarium

Since we had such a jump start on the rest of the family, we decided to drive across the street to see if the Children's Museum would be worth our time.  It wasn't open just yet, but we were able to see inside and we both decided that it wouldn't be worth it.  So we changed our plans and headed to the Aquarium.  Along the way, both kiddos fell asleep.  We decided to explore a little of the area, looking at the houses for sale and general shops.  We pulled back into the parking lot of the museum just as the kids were waking up; perfect timing on our part!

The rest of our family was still quite a bit away so we went inside to check out just a few things.  Upon entering, Michael noticed that if you were a member of one of the listed zoos or aquariums, you would have free entry into this aquarium.  We are members of the National Zoo so we were pleasantly surprised when we didn't have to pay to get inside!

We had noticed there was a dock with a little covered area that we could wait there till the rest of the group got there.  And the weather was perfect this morning so we didn't mind spending this family time at the dock.  We pretty much had the whole dock to ourselves until a group came, but they left shortly after arriving.  The kids explored all over the dock until they got there.  Then it was off to explore inside the actual aquarium!

 Resting up on the way.

Stopped at the airport to kill some time.

Thought of my brother, Greg, when we saw this little plane.

We made it back to the Aquarium.

 Emma helping push Mason around.

Standing at the fish figures right inside the gate.

Mason keeping an eye on everything.

See a penny, pick it up, all day long you will have good luck.

Then we found a dime, probably from Great Grandpa Becker.

Following the turtles on the ground.

They led to this big turtle!

 The beautiful dock.

 Heading to the dock.

 Still pushing Mason.

Lots of water all around us.

 Walking down the dock.

One of the many crabs we had seen that day.

 Examining the lifesaver.

Mason has his eye on his sister's fruit pouch.

And he will do anything to get it.

Emma yelling at Mason to stop touching her leg.

We told her to keep the fruit up high.

Guys, I thought you were on my side.

 So determined to get it!

 Stare down between siblings.

He is still a happy guy.

And she is a happy girl!

Best picture of the two of them on the dock.

 Say cheeseburgers!

 Crawling on the dock.

 Let's go this way.

 And he is off!

But he decided it was more comfortable to cruise around instead.

Emma joined in to look out at the water.

 I did too!

 Such a handsome little man.

Crawling towards the end when the rest of the family arrived.
