After the attempt at the ocean was a fail, we decided to try the sand. Michael was at least able to experience his first reactions to the beach and I was able to see it through the lens of the camera. I know we will have more times to see the kids play at the beach, but it's always those 'first' moments that you want to be a part of. One of the fears Michael and I had about going to the beach with Mason at this age was how much sand would end up in his mouth. It was going to be inevitable, but let's try to minimize the amout that actually does get in there. Here's to a better sand experience!
Crawling all around the beach.
Ready to build a sandcastle.
Looks like it hurts his hands and knees.
Going to find the best spot for their sandcastle.
I think they found it!
Oh no, Mason doesn't think this is the right spot.
Someone wasn't too happy.
Filling up the bucket.
It's filled to it's gills.
Emma pats the bucket.
Then it's Daddy's turn.
And we have a start to the sandcastle.
Ready for the next tower.
Watching Daddy play in the sand.
Mason playing with the sand toys.
Emma playing with the water and sand.
Emma's approach at getting more water.
Daddy and Mason
Michael with his kiddos.
Mindy and Chris
Waiting for someone to get her more water.
Her left cheek wouldn't stay in the swimming suit.
Finding sea shells and putting them in her bucket.
Michael made a chair for Mason to sit in.
Playing in the sand.
Mason would rather stand in the sand.
Emma has warmed up to the water and goes to the shore several times
throughout the day to fill up her buckets and watering can.
