After the train ride, we decided to go in search for the perfect area for a picnic. There were so many other families at the park today that all of the picnic tables were already taken, but that was okay with us because we threw down some old towels/rags we had in the car and had ourselves a picnic in the middle of this open area. It never fails that we eat the same thing whenever we go on a picnic, and today was no different, cheese/crackers, pb and j sandwiches, chips, applesauce, and whatever else snack food we could throw in the bag. It might not be the best meal, but we weren't there to eat, we were at the park to PLAY!
After lunch, Emma wanted to play hide and go seek and tag. Just recently she has shown in interest in these games, and I'm not sure where she learned about them. She counts a variety of numbers and then shouts 'ready or not, here I come' and goes off in search of Daddy. When it's her turn to hide, she goes to the same spot Daddy was just hiding at. We might need to teach her to move around to other areas or she will always be quickly found. Emma loved playing tag with Daddy and Mason thought it was a funny site to see them both just running around being silly in a big open field.
My guys eating their lunches.
Emma enjoying her pb and j sandwich.
And getting chips for guacamole.
Eating the cheese off of the cracker.
Hey, why didn't my cracker have any cheese?
Sharing applesauce with Daddy.
Can I please have something else with this cracker?
Look what I found!
A bit of applesauce before playing soccer.
Kicking the ball to Daddy.
Get ready Emma, here it comes back.
Counting for hide and go seek.
Running to find Daddy.
Is Daddy back there?
You found him!
Mason didn't know what they were doing.
Emma's turn to hide.
And Daddy's turn to count.
Good hiding spot Emma!
When Michael went to look for Emma, she took off running.
I guess hide and go seek became a game of tag!
Run Emma!
Tag! You're it!
Back to hide and go seek, counting again.
Or is this tag?
Having so much fun with Daddy!
Mason wanted to explore and see what was going on.
Emma is so happy playing outside.
A bloody mess after his accident on the train.
Playing in the grass.
What's your next move Daddy?
Okay, I'm going to run then.
Run Daddy, here I come!
I'm going to catch you.
Tasting a leaf.
Resting up while we packed up our belongings.
The mess Mason left on the grass.
