Saving a turtle sure is hard work, so to cool off a bit, we went to look at more fish. As we were walking through the exhibit, I noticed that you could pet a stingray and other small fish like crabs and snails. I asked Emma if she wanted to do that and without any hesitation, she said yes. She jumped right up on the ledge and almost stuck her feet into the water. She probably would have gotten her whole body in there if we let her. I helped point out some of the animals she could pet, and even got in trouble for picking one out of the water...oops! After petting a few smaller fish, Emma decided she wanted to go over to the bigger tank and pet a sting ray. She stuck her hand in the water with no fear and quickly began touching them. I'm glad she is so willing to learn, but sometimes it scares me how daring she really is! I hope Mason isn't as daring as her or I will be a nervous wreck as they grow up.
Posing with some of the smaller fish.
Mason's turn to take a look.
Checking out the tiny sea horse.
Posing and being silly in front of this fish tank.
Showing everyone the bright fish in this tank.
Waiting for someone to help her up on the ledge.
She's up and ready to pet a starfish.
What was that prickly little thing?
Hands plunged in and ready for a stingray to swim by.
Trying to catch one.
Emma's cheering squad around her.
She pet a stingray!
Waiting for another one to swim along.
Playing in the water.
Keeping her eye on one she wants to pet.
Here he comes!
Eww! I need to wash my hands.
Rinsing them off in the water.
The view of the stingrays from the outside.
Just observing them swim around.
