Since the kids were both fast asleep, Michael and I decided to stop at a few places along the way home. We first stopped to get some salt water taffy for Mason's birthday party. Then we continued on to the State Park, which had sand dunes everywhere! Obviously since the kiddos were asleep, one of us had to stay in the car with them. So I went up first to see what it was all about and to take pictures. I was surprised by how much sand there was literally everywhere! Those few moments I had alone were great to just stand there and stare into the world around me and not have to worry about anything, even if it was just those few moments. When I got back to the car, Michael decided he would just look at the pictures I had taken and we would head back.
These are the pictures I captured walking from the wooden pathway up to the lookout spot then continuing up the dunes, looking around the dunes, and heading back down:
