There is a shopping center not too far from us, which has offered outdoor movies every Saturday night during the summer. The Muppet Movie was one of the last movies being played there and one that we think Emma might enjoy. A lot of the movies this summer were meant for older kids so we didn't really go to them, but this one maybe just maybe she will watch it.
We had popped some popcorn and stopped at Taco Bell for tacos and nachos before heading to the movie. The weather was perfect, maybe even a little cool, especially when the sun goes down. We knew we were a little late to the movie, but that's okay because chances are Emma won't watch it anyways. As it turned out, she didn't watch the movie, but the scene that had Big Bird in it. It was only a few minutes that Big Bird was on the big screen, but for that time her eyes were focused on the screen and nothing else.
Then it was onto other things for this kid!
Then it was onto other things for this kid!
She was busy running back and forth in front of the restaurant (where we decided to sit) and playing with her Heidi dog. We even saw a few doggies that came to the movie. One in particular was sitting right behind us and Emma immediately wanted to go over to pet it. We are teaching Emma that she needs to ask the owner since some doggies are nice and some don't like to be petted, much like our Cali and Lexi. Another thing we are teaching Emma is to approach the dog with your hand and let them smell you out to make sure you are a friend to them. Emma went running up to the ladies and their dog, which got the dog excited too! Emma asked, but she asked too quietly so I asked the owners, who said they would love it for someone to pet their dog. They told us their dog's name was Lexi, which led into a conversation about our dog Lexi at home. Emma was letting this Lexi love all over her, giving her kisses all over her face. The doggie was loving on Emma so much that she accidentally knocked Emma over. Emma was fine, but she didn't want to leave the doggie. Since we weren't really watching the movie at all, we decided to beat some of the traffic and head home, especially since it was quickly approaching bed time.
Enjoying some fresh air with the windows down!
Walking to the movie.
Heidi dog has her seat picked out for the movie.
At first, Emma was excited to sit on the ground to watch a movie.
And to enjoy some popcorn too!
She spotted the doggie!
People watching.
Happy movie goer!
Running back and forth.
Stopping for some popcorn.
And a drink of Daddy's soda.
Enjoying some nachos.
There is Big Bird, the star in Emma's eyes!
Glued to the screen.
Sipping the soda like a big kid.
Picking out some popcorn for a friend.
Patiently waiting for the popcorn.
Emma feeding Heidi dog the popcorn.
Trying out this spot to watch a glimpse of the show.
Laying down and snacking.
Daddy kisses for Mason.
Still a happy movie goer.
Trying to figure out how to get into the popcorn.
Mason spotted Daddy eating the popcorn.
And he is trying to get it.
Gotta keep the popcorn up high or else Mason will get it.
Loving on Daddy or surveying the area for more popcorn?
He got a hold of the popcorn container.
After the spill, Mason managed to get a little bit of popcorn.
So excited to squeeze a water bottle.
Could have been hours of entertainment.
Crinkle, crinkle.
Emma came to help make water bottle noises.
Climbing over the stroller.
Up close and personal with Mason.
Someone was getting a little silly.
Kind of watching the movie.
Eyes closed, but still happy!
Loving on each other.
Our family enjoying an outdoor summer movie night!
Ready to head home and get ready for bed!
